Have You Recently Experienced a Drug Loss? We Can Help

If your pharmacy has been the victim of a robbery or burglary, we may be able to help you regain some of your losses. Additionally, we
can work to get you a Protector Series Narcotic Safe at minimum or NO COST TO YOU!!

Problem

According to statistics published by RXPatrol, there have been 6,373 documented cases of pharmacy crimes since 2003. Individuals are robbing pharmacies across the country at escalating rates after drugs with street values of as much as $100.00 per pill.

At the same time, these same high street value drugs are being diverted (stolen by employees) at an even faster pace. This demand for narcotics has reached a national epidemic and the robberies have become so frequent and violent that we can read about them in the paper everyday. As a result pharmacies are facing very stringent inventory tracking and reporting requirements by the DEA for CII classdrugs.

The Federal law requires that pharmacies account for CII narcotics with a manual perpetual inventory log for every pill acquired and dispensed. The current system used by pharmacies is a handwritten logbook which is time consuming and prone to human error especially during peak dispensing times.

Internal theft from pharmacy employees is also on the rise. The standard locking metal key cabinet has not been sufficient to control accesses to these medications and curb internal theft.

Camera systems have also not been able to slow down or control this problem of epidemic proportions. Part of the issue concerning the use of camera systems to control internal theft or diversion is the unrealistic thought of pharmacy staff having & taking the time to review thousands and thousands of hours of recordings to identify employees actively involved in diversion.

The Next Level for Pharmacy
Automation, Security & Dispensing

PharmaSafe was founded in 2008 to address some of the major problems facing the retail pharmacy market today: armed robbery, theft and internal diversion of controlled substances.

As drug diversion worsens across the country and the volume of prescriptions dispensed each year continues to rise, pharmacies are in need of an integrated solution that increases pharmacy productivity while greatly reducing theft and internal diversion of controlled substances. Ultimately, only those pharmacies able to secure, track and dispense controlled substances will be best positioned to survive in the competitive marketplace. Abuse and diversion of controlled prescription drugs cost public and private medical insurers an estimated $72.5 billion per year (source: The National Prescription Drug Threat Assessment 2009.

Pharmasafe's innovative line of product's sole purpose is to provide user accountable secure dispensing, management and storage of narcotics and other high theft items. Each Pharmasafe products adds value for its customer by offering the following features:

• Improving employee retention and productivity by providing a safer
and more secure work environment

• Eliminating potential for U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency sanctions, fines (multi-million dollars in some cases), and potential loss of pharmacy certification and licensure required to dispense narcotic
drugs.

• Increasing the speed and accuracy of the prescription filling process while decreasing the number of mis-fills and adverse drug events

• Lowering labor costs – retail pharmacies can fill many times their current prescription volume with out having to hire additional staff

• Increasing customer service and patient care by allowing
pharmacists to spend more time counseling patients and less time managing pill counts & manually filling prescriptions

• Reducing the amount of time required for a pharmacist to fill prescriptions by automating the process

Always Ready for an Audit

PharmaSafe Software is Welcomed by the DEA

Today, narcotic drug distribution is ladened with documentation caused by federal and state regulations. The very labor-intensive process of recording and entering CII medications leaves plenty of room for exposure to internal thefts as well as human error in logging these medications.

As a result, the bottom line for pharmacies is greatly affected. PharmaSafe offers automated narcotic tracking and accountability. Nowit is easy to meet DEA and State Board of Pharmacy
guidelines and avoid fines.

PharmaSafe's Perpetual Inventory Log and Management software enables a pharmacy to track, monitor, and control the movement of controlled substances from the drug wholesaler to the end user
as well as provide an accurate perpetual inventory log. It significantly reduces the risk of DEA sanctions and fines, provides effective regulatory stands compliance, and increases pharmacy efficiency.
Comprehensive reporting will be offered including:

• Inventory Reports
• Usage and Tracking reports
• Systems access reports
• DEA compliant reports for transmitting require data on CII, CIII-IV,
legend drug and controlled drugs. This report can be transmitted
directly to a pharmacy's central office for the DEA for review or
storage

Frees Up Pharmacist Time

Another benefit of the PharmaSafe products is that they save pharmacists time by using automating narcotic dispensing.

CII drug dispending is now fast, reliable, and easy. Narcotic dispensing is a time consuming task. Pharmacists must take the time to check the ordered medication against the patient's medical record, search for narcotic keys to the cabinet, document administrative records and reconcile narcotic records after each shift.

Pharmasafe's systems store, count, and release all drugs under computer control to ensure highly accurate prescription filling. Our units are unrivaled in their use of bar code scanning, security, and software protocols for dispensing of Narcotic medications.
